Enjoying Bonita Springs

Yesterday we lounged around the resort and enjoyed sitting by the pool.

The bigger pool was too cold so we didn’t go in. We relaxed a lot and read our books.

I did get to see a great heron at the resort.

Today we caught the hotel’s shuttle to the pier, where a boat takes you to their private island, Big Hickory Island.

I spotted a dolphin and everyone saw it but I wasn’t quick enough to take its picture.

The skies were blue but there was a bit of wind. However, it didn’t stop us from enjoying the beach.

I can see why it’s called Pelican Landing Community Association Beach Park. There were so many pelicans flying about or just resting.

We watched as schools of fish swam by and the birds dove to catch their prey. Or some just lazed about.

We spent a couple of hours at the beach looking for shells and enjoyed the beautiful beach.

We headed back to the boat and waited for it to arrive.

The Hyatt Vacation Club in Bonita Springs has 3 pools. Today, we went to the veranda pool which definitely seemed a bit heated.

For dinner, we ate at Pinchers Clam Shack. I had conch fritters and crab cake and Bruce had a grouper sandwich.

It was all delicious.

And to end our little getaway, a sunset over Estero Bay. We waited for it to set.

And almost there!

Tomorrow home to Delray Beach!

In 2015, I retired and set out to do as much traveling as I could. I started the blog on our first, month-long trip to Panama in October 2015. My sister Linda and her husband Stan joined Bruce and me on our first trip and we decided together on the name the four amigos. Since then, we don’t always travel with them, sometimes just Bruce and I, sometimes other people, whoever wants to join us on our crazy journeys. The name stuck and I grew an affinity for it. So here we are. I invite you to join the fouramigos blog on our next destination.
