A trip to North Carolina

My granddaughter Kadyn was playing in her last varsity football game. The last since she’s female and she won’t be offered any college scholarshipsto play football. But she did a great job as a kicker.

But before the game, my daughter Lauren, her husband Mike, and my ex-husband’s wife, Reverie, went for a walk. The trees are turning beautiful colors that I don’t see in South Florida.

This lovely walk was before a three-hour road trip to see the game. The girls were in one car and the boys in another.

The game was pretty much a blowout but Kadyn’s team came to life in the last quarter. Just a little too late.

The drive back to the hotel took three hours, and we were exhausted. So we slept in.

We met Kadyn for breakfast along with my ex-husband and his wife. It was a cute little place in Smithfield called the Gilded Pear.

Afterwards, we did a little shopping at the outlets and witnessed a beautiful sunset.

We all met up for dinner at Mannings in Downtown Clayton. This was just the girls!

Today we are heading back home. It was great to see the family and Kadyn’s football game.

And the fall foliage was a big plus!

In 2015, I retired and set out to do as much traveling as I could. I started the blog on our first, month-long trip to Panama in October 2015. My sister Linda and her husband Stan joined Bruce and me on our first trip and we decided together on the name the four amigos. Since then, we don’t always travel with them, sometimes just Bruce and I, sometimes other people, whoever wants to join us on our crazy journeys. The name stuck and I grew an affinity for it. So here we are. I invite you to join the fouramigos blog on our next destination.
