Our Last Leg of Our Journey

We debarked the Celebrity Equinox and were transported to Rome International Airport through Celebrity.

We were staying one night at the Hilton Rome Airport before traveling home. Because I am a Hilton Gold we had access to the lounge. They had snacks and drinks while we waited for our room to become available.

For dinner we had pizzas. Mine was obviously the one with greens on it. Bruce hates greens!

We had a wake up call for 3:30 because our flight was 6:15 am. The bell captain helped us with our bags and drove us to the terminal. After we checked in with Swiss Air, we went to the lounge.

We had lounge access by flying business class but I also have priority pass through my American Express Platinum card.

I was able to get business class tickets on Swiss Air by booking through Air Canada. They were 70k points plus $150 each. I transferred the points from Chase.

Our first flight was good but there were probably only two dozen people on the plane. We were in the first two seats.

They served breakfast which wasn’t very good but also coffee and chocolate which was very good.

Now we are waiting in the Swiss Business lounge in Zurich. More breakfast was served as well as ice cream and candy.

We are sitting in the lounge with the Swiss Alps as a backdrop.

Its time to finally board. Our business class consists of lay down seats.

Our flight comes with a cosmetic case filled with goodies for the flight.

They served us a meal with courses on linen table cloths. We had a drink of some type of tea. Champagne was served for those who wanted a glass.

It’s the only way to fly on those long hauls.

Now we are ubering back from the airport. We had a fabulous trip stopping in the Azores, Ireland, England, Spain, Greece, Malta, Turkey, and Rome. Life is grand!

In 2015, I retired and my goal was to do as much traveling as I possibly could. I started the blog for our first month long trip to Panama in October 2015. My sister Linda and her husband Stan joined Bruce and I on our first trip and we decided together on the name the four amigos. Since then, we don’t always travel with them, sometimes just Bruce and I, sometimes other people, whoever wants to join us on our crazy journeys. The name stuck and I grew an affinity to it. So here we are. I invite you to join thefouramigos blog on our next destination.

  1. BTW – I agree – on long hauls – it is so worth the upgrade! When we flew to China back in 2006 – we went economy on the long flight from Detroit to Japan – UGH!!!😩 on the way back we had a screaming toddler and Dan said NEVER again.
