Life is Tough – Off on Another Cruise

Life sure is tough. After a few weeks of campaigning for Circle Director in my HOA, I’m finally ready to relax and enjoy a few days. I also had a bad case of shingles from my butt to my ankle which didn’t help my mood much.

This is after a few days.

Our friends came from New York and spent the night before heading to Port Everglades.

My new hat thanks to my friend Dawna!

Our first dinner on the Celebrity Equinox was scrumptious. I always look forward to my nightly escargot on celebrity ships.

Although we are usually alone on our travels, it’s nice to have fellow comrades, Grace and Tim.

After a good dinner, we went to the Equinox theater to hear Mike Mentz.

He was really good and enjoyed his repertoire very much. He sang some Springsteen, Lynyrd Skynyrd and then his own songs. After the show a bit of gambling in the casino and then to bed.

Our first sea day, we enjoyed the enlightenment series, featuring Cathy Ace, a Welsh mystery writer. She will be doing a series on crime and mystery writing over the next few sea days.

A peak of Cuba from our balcony. I love balcony cabins to enjoy some solitude mixed with breezes of sea air. I must remember to always be grateful to God for the life I live. In my every day life I sometimes forget about gratitude but the peace and serenity of the sea reminds me of all God’s gifts.

Today we stopped in Grand Cayman. We were here last year so we weren’t sure whether to tender to port. But Grace and Tim had never been to GC so we decided to go late.

We visited a combined Congregational and Presbyterian Church built in the 1800s.

We walked around and took a few photos. Tim and Bruce with pirates.

A few shots of the port area!

Then back to the ship for lunch and pool time.

We are heading out shortly so no more WiFi but life sure is good!

In 2015, I retired and my goal was to do as much traveling as I possibly could. I started the blog for our first month long trip to Panama in October 2015. My sister Linda and her husband Stan joined Bruce and I on our first trip and we decided together on the name the four amigos. Since then, we don’t always travel with them, sometimes just Bruce and I, sometimes other people, whoever wants to join us on our crazy journeys. The name stuck and I grew an affinity to it. So here we are. I invite you to join thefouramigos blog on our next destination.
